Do you travel outside of the Lansing area?
Of course! Contact me to discuss your wedding venue plans and we can accommodate your budget with a customized portrait plan that will exceed your expectations.
Will there be a second shooter?
I always have an assistant and a second photographer when I photograph a wedding.
Can I extend the session on the day of?
Absolutely, add $250/hour for each hour extended past the contracted amount.
What kind of gear do you use?
I create photographs with a Nikon D750 and I love using my 85mm 1.4 Art lens for weddings and senior portraits. I also carry my nifty 50mm 1.4. I also have a 24-70mm 2.8, which I use for family portraits and sometimes in my studio. I rarely use my 70-100mm, but my second photographer mainly uses this lens during weddings, which gives our final portrait gallery a great variety in focal lengths.
I use a Paul C. Buff Alien Bee and a large softbox in studio.
On location and while traveling, I try to use a little equipment as possible. My favorite equipment is my camera and my 50mm prime lens because it is such a light set up and I can shoot almost anything with this lens.
My tools are cool, but its my technique and process that rule!
Do I have to order prints through you?
The better question may be: When you invest in a professional photographer, why wouldn't you invest in professional prints? Would you bring your own hair color to your hairstylist? Or ask your caterer if you could frost the cake yourself?
I have found that many people do not print their images any more and are simply posting their images on social media. For that reason, I offer digital downloads for social media sharing only and you can print through my portrait lab. Each session includes a print credit through my professional photo lab.
However, high resolution, digital images may be purchased with a limited print release.
